Shouldn't Christian music be free? Have you ever heard the saying, "Salvation is free, not ministry"? From production to recording, promotion, marketing, and traveling expenses, spreading the message of the gospel around the world will cost a great chunk. Do you find it okay to spend billions of dollars on an organization that goes against God commandment "Thou shalt not kill" (Exodus 20:13), yet criticize a messenger of God who gets paid doing God's work? So many people scream about a need for change in a nation where people don't even lift a finger to vote or know how to contact our elected officials (https://www.usa.gov/elected-officials); then muzzle the mouths and suppress the vocal potential of those who work to spread a message about connecting a dying world to the highest official, JESUS (Revelation 19:16).
Do you find it okay to spend 12+ years chasing a high school diploma, then 4-5+ years chasing a college degree, only to find out it's not enough? Or better yet, sending our troops to fight, for 2+ years in dangerous lands, killing and being killed for WE DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT? I ask: 'How is it that, when God asks us to use the first fruits of our time to build His kingdom (Proverbs 3:9), we disregard it as if building our kingdom's on earth is most important?' Did you know that this world will soon fade away (2 Corinthians 4:18), and the only thing that will matter is what our Father will say on judgement day (Hebrews 9:27)? Do you find it strange that we are willing to pay a United States soldier way more to kill internationally, than we would pay messengers of God to build and spread the Word of God nationally?
'Why should Christian artist get paid?' In efforts to bring souls to life before they die, how powerful of a platform do you consider music to be? This world is so quick to promote war and murder, drugs and prostitution, hate and racism; but even quicker to tear down a messenger of God with criticism and backbiting, without looking for ways to help spread God's Word. 'So what, it's only words from an ancient book,' many would say. But I wouldn't take the Word of God lightly my friends. The Word of God, according to John 6:63, ARE WORDS FULL OF THE SPIRIT AND LIFE! According to David in Psalm 107:20, God sent out His word and healed and rescued from the grave. Yes, people get to live physically thanks to our security structure in the United States. However, to live does NOT mean you are spiritually alive.
Let God be true, but every man a liar (Romans 3:4)! "If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved; for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved (Romans 10:9-10, 13)."""How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!" But not all the Israelites accepted the good news. For Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed our message?" Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ." - Romans 10:14-17
For Scripture says, "Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain," and "The worker deserves his wages." - 1 Timothy 5:18
